Meet the Directors
At the heart of LIFT are two brothers whose leadership is shaped as much by faith and whānau as it is by action and vision. Tyson and Davis Ataera are more than the faces behind the organisation — they are heart-led changemakers with a deep commitment to serving rangatahi and strengthening their community across Hawke’s Bay.
Their shared mission is simple, yet powerful: to love God and to love people. This is not a slogan tucked away in a strategy document; it is the heartbeat that guides every decision, relationship and programme delivered through LIFT. It shows up in the way they walk alongside rangatahi, the way they partner with whānau and the way they build opportunities that are grounded in dignity, hope and purpose.
Through Lift Social Enterprise, Tyson and Davis are creating meaningful, practical pathways for rangatahi to thrive. Alongside a committed and values-driven team, they deliver transformative programmes such as LEAP and BOUNCE — initiatives designed to build confidence, resilience and a strong sense of identity. These programmes don’t just focus on skills or outcomes; they are about helping young people discover who they are, what they carry and where they are heading.
The brothers’ work is deeply intergenerational. They honour the legacy of their parents — a legacy of service, faith and community — while intentionally forging a future where rangatahi are empowered to dream boldly and lead with intention. This intergenerational lens ensures that the work of LIFT is not reactive or short-term, but rooted in long-term transformation for whānau and community.
Tyson and Davis Ataera embody a style of leadership that is grounded in aroha, expressed through action and fuelled by vision. Their journey is a living example of what can happen when faith meets service and when leadership is measured not by titles, but by lives changed.
With Lift Social Enterprise now established in its new premises on King Street in Hastings, the organisation is entering an exciting new chapter of growth. Building on this momentum, Tyson and Davis are laying the foundations for a first-of-its-kind Rangatahi Hub — a purpose-built space designed to meet the evolving needs of future leaders. The Hub will bring together physical wellbeing, creativity, technology, mentorship and community connection under one roof, creating a place where rangatahi can connect, grow and thrive with purpose.
They’re currently seeking investors, partners and supporters who share their passion for uplifting rangatahi and creating lasting change. This is more than a building — it’s a legacy project that will transform futures for generations to come.
