Nine Hastings Youth Graduate from LSV Defence Force Camp

LEAP Program Lights the Way to Lasting Transformation

Hastings, NZ — In a powerful display of resilience, discipline and determination, nine rangatahi from Hastings have successfully graduated from the LSV Defence Force camp, completing six intense weeks of physical training, personal development and leadership growth.

Their journey began with three weeks of preparation through the LEAP physical and wellbeing program, delivered by Lift Social Enterprise — a grassroots organisation led by local brothers Davis and Tyson Ataera, whose guiding mission is simple yet profound: to love God and love people.

From the very start, these young individuals showed potential — and the LIFT team never doubted their ability to rise to the challenge. Today, they’ve exceeded expectations, returning from camp transformed, inspired and more confident about the paths ahead.

“I couldn’t have gotten through LSV without the support from LIFT. They backed me even when I didn’t believe in myself — and that made all the difference.”
— Creedence Aupouri, LSV Graduate.

Two of the trainees received awards and were acknowledged at the formal dinner:
Commander award: Shyloh Hawkins-Bryan
Fastest female cross country: Nastacia Gaylard
Female PT award: Nastacia Gaylard

And this isn’t the end — it’s just the beginning. The journey continues as LIFT helps these rangatahi step confidently into their futures, whatever shape those may take.

With their new premises now established on King Street in Hastings, Lift Social Enterprise is entering an exciting new chapter. At the heart of this expansion is our vision for a state-of-the-art Rangatahi Hub — a purpose-built space for youth to connect, grow, and thrive through tailored programs, mentorship and community innovation.

They’re currently seeking investors, partners and supporters who share their passion for uplifting rangatahi and creating lasting change. This is more than a building — it’s a legacy project that will transform futures for generations to come.
